Off-Site Meeting Venues: Landmarks to Live It Up
Meetings become lifetime experiences when hosted in one of Virginia’s most unique meeting venues.

Virginia Museum of Transportation
The galleries and meeting rooms of this transportation museum come surrounded by the country’s largest diesel engine collection, steam locomotives, and special exhibits – and make for a uniquely themed reception rooted in Virginia train history.
Center in the Square
Beyond its four museums, theater, and rooftop restaurant, this downtown landmark also offers several of the city’s most unique venues, including the open-air Rooftop Butterfly Deck and the Roanoke Pinball Museum with more than 50 old-school pinball machines.
Blue 5
The award-winning Blue 5 restaurant features three venues: The Red Room, great for large private parties, The Mezzanine for a birds-eye view of the Guitar Bar, and The White Room for banquet-style receptions. All of the spaces have their own bar access and are semi to fully private.
Taubman Museum of Art
With a magnificent view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and downtown Roanoke, this modern building with sharp angles of steel and glass makes for a unique event backdrop. Choose from the three-story Atrium with a soaring glass roof or the Auditorium with travertine floors and glowing blue backlighting.

City Market Building
Atop this historic 1885 market building packed with independent restaurants and retailers, you’ll find the private event space known as Charter Hall. Formerly the Roanoke Opera House, Charter Hall rolls history, flexibility, and state-of-the-art technology all into one space that can accommodate up to 460 people for meetings and 240 for formal dining.
