VP, Global Sales, Meetings & Destination Experiences

Paul Bashaw serves as Vice President, Global Sales, Meetings and Destination Experiences for Benchmark. In his role Paul leads all corporate global sales initiatives for the growing hospitality management company. This includes expanding Benchmark’s global sales team.

Paul was previously Director of Sales at the award winning Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center located in Scottsdale, Arizona. While in this position, Mr. Bashaw earned Benchmark’s Sales Leader Of The Year award for his client-focused approach to sales and his emphasis on relationship building to ensure customer loyalty, retention and satisfaction.

Paul earned his B.A. in Communications & Public Relations from the State University of New York at Oswego. He was a two-time SUNYAC Baseball Champion and got his first experience in the resort business while participating in the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. He resides in Arizona with his wife and daughter.

John MacMullen drives business development for the Global Sales team by creating new and innovative methods for our sales professionals to connect with meeting planners across the country. John specializes in meeting dynamics, with extensive experience in event creation, conference planning, sourcing, and logistics.

Before joining the Global Sales team, he spent over a decade as a sales leader with Benchmark Resorts & Hotels, where he directed sales and marketing for world-class golf and beach resorts throughout Florida and the Caribbean. He remains active in industry leadership and currently serves on the board of the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC).

Affectionately known as “Jmac” among colleagues, John was raised in the Virgin Islands in a family renowned within the luxury yachting community. A former competitive scholastic and collegiate sailor, he is equally comfortable on the water as he is in the boardroom. Today, John resides in South Florida with his wife and daughter.

Mousumi Johnson supports the Global Sales Team’s business development efforts and is integral in the planning of Benchmark’s Destination Experiences. Mousumi brings 30 years of sales knowledge and has worked developing corporate, association, SMERF and transient sales in several different capacities.

Prior to Benchmark, Mousumi developed markets for both Hyatt Hotels and Wyndham Hotels. “My favorite aspect of Benchmark is the people I get to work with every day. We are all so passionate about what the company represents as an industry leader.”

When Mousumi isn’t on the phones planning Benchmark’s next big event, she’s out to dinner in Dallas where she resides. Mousumi is a true aficionado of the city’s culinary scene. However, she’ll admit to being as happy entertaining in a Michelin-rated restaurant as she is standing outside a neighborhood food truck with her husband, three kids and two dogs. She's lived in four countries: India (birthplace), England, Canada, and USA, and three continents: Asia, Europe and North America, and spent her childhood years playing the piano accordion. Ask her about it!

Patti Caulfield is a seasoned hospitality professional with over 18 years of experience in the New York City metropolitan area, where she has successfully covered all market segments and built a reputation as a trusted, strategic partner. As Director of Global Accounts for our portfolio of unique and inspiring destinations, Patti brings deep industry knowledge, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for elevating client experiences. Her ability to understand diverse client needs—paired with her talent for crafting tailored, solutions-focused strategies—ensures that each destination in our portfolio delivers exceptional, memorable experiences.

When she’s not connecting clients with extraordinary destinations, Patti enjoys spending quality time with her husband of 34 years, their three adult children, and vacationing or golfing somewhere warm, relaxing, and full of sunshine. Fun fact - Patti can juggle (ask her to prove it!).
