With seemingly countless wineries to explore, one day in Woodinville Wine Country just isn’t enough. Here’s some itinerary inspiration for a weekend in the Washington wine mecca, with Willows Lodge as your home base.

Friday

5 p.m. - CATCH A LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCE

Kick off your getaway to this winery wonderland with a visit to Patterson Cellars’ tasting room, where you can sit back with a glass of vino and drink in the live music (offered each Friday and Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.). The winery’s Hollywood Hill location, just a quick walk from your luxurious accommodations at Willows Lodge, features daily flights and tastings of approachable, New World-style wines. If visitng during the week, you can also enjoy live music at the hotel's Fireside Lounge Tuesdays - Saturdays.

7 p.m. - SAVOR WINE COUNTRY FLAVORS

Your Woodinville trip isn’t complete without dinner at Willows Lodge’s on-site restaurant, Barking Frog. Savor seasonal and hyperlocal modern American cuisine featuring fresh ingredients from local farmers, fishermen, and foragers. Also on offer: Memorable pours from the award-winning wine cellar curated by a highly credentialed Sommelier team, featuring both global wines and varietals from Washington growers. After a sumptuous meal, head right over to your room for a good night’s sleep before a full day of winery hopping.

Saturday

9 a.m. - TIME TO CAFFEINATE

You’re going to want to fuel up for your longest day of exploring and sipping. Enter Sidekick Coffee, a locally owned coffee spot just steps away from the town center. With abundant latte art and an array of goodies sure to please even the most scrutinous pastry lover, the airy and inviting shop — boasting plush seating inside and perfect-for-people-watching tables outside — is the ideal place to jumpstart your Saturday explorations.

12 p.m. - STOP BY A HISTORIC WINERY

There are several acclaimed wineries within a stone’s throw of your lodging at Willow Lodge. Start at Chateau St. Michelle Winery, Washington’s oldest (and most lauded) winery, anchoring the city’s Hollywood District. The French-style château’s tasting room is open daily for experiences ranging from wine and chocolate pairings to picnics in the rose garden and “Winemaker for a Day,” when you can play vintner for the afternoon and create your own red blend. The chateau also boasts a popular outdoor summer concert series running from Memorial Day weekend to mid September.

3 p.m. - SIP AROUND THE HOLLYWOOD DISTRICT

Now that you’ve dipped your toe into all the Hollywood District has to offer, continue exploring the bustling winery hub. Step through the hedge in the parking lot and discover six fantastic tasting rooms/wineries including Sparkman Cellars, DeLille, Mark Ryan, Long Shadows, Fidelitas, and Latta. All of these spaces have indoor/outdoor seating, light food options, and some even feature live entertainment.

7 p.m. - FEAST ON NORTHWESTERN FARE

Casual and inviting, The Hollywood Tavern has just the right aesthetic for a wind-down dinner (or should we say wine-down?) to cap off a busy Saturday. The distillery-inspired roadside tavern serves up inventive craft cocktails and fine whiskeys, plus a range of comforting eats like fall-off-the-bone pork ribs, cod and chips, and a ribeye french dip.

Sunday

9 a.m. - OUTDOOR ADVENTURE AWAITS

After a hearty breakfast (we’d recommend Woodinville Cafe or Rusty Pelican Cafe), spend your Sunday morning enjoying a breath of fresh air — luckily, there are so many options for connecting with nature in the Woodinville area. Think: biking along the 10-mile-long Sammamish River Trail or strolling around the scenic Paradise Valley Conservation Area, a nearly 800-acre park that’s perfect for birdwatchers and hikers of all skill levels.

1 p.m. - ROAM THE WAREHOUSE DISTRICT

Home to more boutique wineries per square foot than any wine region in the world, Woodinville’s Warehouse District deserves its own afternoon of exploration. The small-but- mighty Genoa Cellars offers a cozy tasting experience with sailing-inspired wine names; Category 5 Cellars focuses on small lot, carefully blended wines; and the dog-friendly Quiddity Wines tasting room boasts Rhone-style wines in a relaxed, convivial space.
