Regenerative tourism is more than a buzzword—it’s a movement. Travelers now seek out ways to leave destinations better than they found them. That includes staying at hotels and resorts that prioritize sustainability, support local communities, and give back to the planet.

This holiday season, when giving back is top of mind, consider a vacation that’s as meaningful as it is memorable. Benchmark Resorts & Hotels partnered with 4ocean, a leading ocean cleanup company, pledging to remove a minimum of 10,000 pounds of trash and plastic from global waterways.

When guests book a dedicated package at one of Benchmark’s participating resorts and hotels, the collection of independent properties will contribute $10 per room night to 4ocean—which equates to 10 pounds of plastic and trash removed for every night you stay.

Each of these hotel experiences prioritize fun with purpose. Here’s where you can relax, reconnect with nature, and make a real impact on our precious waterways.

Naples, Florida

While the rest of the country is starting to cool down, Naples, Florida, is heating up with a roster of seasonal events paired with sunshine and balmy temps. The Naples Grande Beach Resort, is a nature lover’s dream year-round, set along a mangrove estuary with winding boardwalks and fronting the Gulf. Taking a tram to the beach to watch the sunset is a regular celebration. From now until December 22, 2025, you can book a package that includes perks like complimentary beach chairs, self-parking and more — but a highlight is the one-hour kayak rental per day. That means you can cruise through the peaceful mangrove ecosystems, looking for wildlife, while helping give back to the waterways. Travel through December 22, 2025.

Waikiki, Hawaii

It’s no secret thatHawaii treats water as both a precious natural resource and a core part of its culture. Fall is a perfect time to visit the island destination, avoiding peak-season crowds yet still basking in warm temperatures. If you stay at the Wayfinder Waikiki on Oahu, part of booking a package that benefits 4ocean means semi-private surf lessons for two with Wayfinder’s local experts and two Wayfinder-branded surfer towels to take home as souvenirs. Travel through November 30, 2025.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Autumn is a dream in Cape Cod,and a stay at Chatham Bars Inn presents the chance to watch daily life on the water come alive from the fishing and lobster boats to seals chilling on a sandbar. If you choose the 4ocean package, you’ll get luxury ocean-view accommodations and a host of nature-enriching activities. Soak up the wild setting of Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge on a guided tour, where marshes and dunes set the stage for migratory birds and seals. Then retreat back to the resort for two eco-friendly spa treatments and savor a sustainable dinner for two crafted with local ingredients. Travel through December 22, 2025.

Santa Cruz, California

When it comes to sustainability and conservation, California often leads the way. Plan a getaway at Chaminade Resort & Spa, a mountain-top retreat that sits on 300 acres with a Zen-like spa. It’s tucked away in the beach town of Santa Cruz, known for its laidback surf culture and natural beauty from the ocean to the mountains. If you book the eco-focused package, you can choose between paddle boarding or kayaking for two in Monterey Bay, and a $50 dining credit at The View Restaurant & Bar with sweeping views of Monterey Bay. Travel through January 31, 2026.

Make an Impact, Wherever You Stay

Even if you don’t book one of these dedicated packages, you can still travel more responsibly. Hotel guests can make eco-conscious decisions by skipping housekeeping, reuse towels and linens, take shorter showers and utilize refillable water bottles. Also, look for local events like special clean-ups and event boat tours that clean-up the waterways (where guests get a free boat ride in exchange). Guests can also make optional contributions during online booking at specific Benchmark properties.
